Six weeks after giving birth and I've lost 30 of the 40lbs I packed on during my pregnancy. Although I'd like to say that that was because of exercise and eating well, the truth is that I lost about 15lbs right after giving birth and the rest was simply retained water. Breastfeeding also played a big part in contracting my uterus and helping me lose my post-pregnancy paunch. Really, aside from being the best food for baby and saving us a hefty sum every month, breastfeeding also helped me lose weight. Amazing!
