I have never stressed over Christmas shopping because: (1) I don't believe in finding the perfect gift for every single person I know; and (2) I can give presents up to New Year and Three Kings. It also helped that my parents were always lousy Christmas gift givers, with my mom wrapping up her pharmaceutical swag (i.e. antibiotic emblazone pillow or pen) and my dad giving us whatever he could sneak in the grocery cart, so there was never any pressure to give unforgettable and fantabulous gifts.
I only started taking Christmas presents seriously when I had my first pamangkin because it was such a thrill to see him rip open the wrapping paper and screech with joy at the toy inside. That's why my Christmas shopping routine has been altered in that I now think hard about what to give my nephews and nieces, while I still buy in bulk for everyone else.
